Solenoid Valve BSP / NPT common thread sizes guide.

Solenoid valve Parallel Internal and External threads are Fastening Threads and require the use of a gasket or cone seal. Solenoid valve tapered threads are Joining Threads and create a pressure tight seal when used with jointing compound or PTFE tape.

It is sometimes possible to use a BSPP or BSP parallel solenoid valve with a BSPT tapered thread with the combined use of a sealing compound, but it is not sound engineering practise to use a BSPT tapered solenoid valve body with a BSPP parallel thread.

Solenoid valves can be BSP, BSPT or NPT thread, below we have detailed some solenoid valve or industrial standard thread tables to help solenoid valve users and installers better understand the concepts of thread form, type and fitment.
