Pressure Sustaining, Reducing, Relief and Pilot Float Valves. Pressure Reducing Valve.Pressure reducing valves PRV also known as pressure regulating valves are designed to reduce and maintain a constant outlet or downstream pressure regardless of upstream pressure changes, to protect process equipment from over pressure damage. Pressure reducing or regulating valves can be manually adjusted between their minimum and maximum pressure settings and the reduced downstream pressure will be displayed by the external pressure gauge. Pressure Sustaining Valve.Pressure sustaining valves BPV also known as back pressure valves are designed to maintain a set back pressure regardless of downstream flow demands, to protect upstream process equipment from under pressure or insufficient flow damage. Pressure sustaining or back pressure valves can be manually adjusted between their minimum and maximum pressure settings and the maintained back pressure will be displayed by the external pressure gauge.
Pressure Relief Valve.Pressure relief valves also known as safety pressure release valves are designed to stay closed and when system pressure reaches close to the maximum pressure setting the pressure relief valve will quickly open to release the excess system pressure. When the system pressure reduces back down to safe levels the pressure relief valve will slowly close, maintaining correct pressure and avoiding back pressure pulse waves or water hammer effects caused by quick closing valves. Pressure relief or pressure safety release valves can be manually adjusted between their minimum and maximum pressure settings with the inlet or system pressure will be displayed by the external pressure gauge.
Pilot Float Valve.Pilot float valves are designed as a mechanical water tank refilling control system, that does not require any electrical supply or additional control mechanism. The main valve body is connected to the main water line with its main outlet into the water tank. A pilot float ball valve is installed at the side of the water tank which will open and close a pilot valve according to the water tank water level. The pilot valve is connected by pipe to the main water inlet valve and it is the water pressure from the floating pilot valve that control the main inlet valve.
When the water level drops, the pilot valve floating ball drops, the pilot valve opens and releases the water back pressure to the main valve which will then open to refill the water tank.
When the water level rises and reaches the maximum water level setting, the pilot valve floating ball rises and the pilot valve closes generating water back pressure to the main valve causing this to close and stopping the water tank refilling further.
