Latching bi-stable Solenoid Control Valves.Latching or Bi-stable solenoid valves are typically Green or Environmentally Friendly solenoid valves as they do not require a constant electrical power supply to remain in a closed or open state. latching brass, stainless steel or plastic solenoid valves require only a short electrical power pulse or signal to change state (open or closed) as the latching solenoid valve remains in position usually with the aid of an internal electrical solenoid valve magnet or solenoid valve latching system. Typical operation of a latching solenoid valve would be one short electrical power pulse to change the solenoid valve from closed to open state and stay OPEN even when power is removed. To change the state i.e. close the bistable latching solenoid valve you need to reverse the electrical polarity (i.e. swap +ve to -ve and -ve to +ve) and send a short electrical Power Pulse again to the solenoid valve to change its state to the closed position where it will stay even without power supply. Be careful that the electrical power supply is reversed to change the state of the latching solenoid valve, otherwise it will only stay in its original state for example power to close latching solenoid valve if electrically pulsed the same will remain closed, the same rule applies if electrically energized to open and re-energised the same why the latching solenoid valve will only stay in the same state - open. Latching solenoid valves are available from 1/8 to 2" BSP or NPT thread and Flanged options are available from DN10 to DN500 PN16 or ANSI150Lb flanges.
