12 Volt DC Solenoid Valves and 12v electric valves.12 volt Brass, Stainless steel & plastic solenoid valves (12vdc DC direct current or 12vAC alternating current) to suit most applications are an ideal solution for hobbyists, DIY enthusiasts and applications where low voltage safety is of paramount importance such as drinking water, vending machine and coffee machine applications that use miniature 12 volt solenoid valves and small compact low power valve coils that draw under 500 milliamp. This in itself offers benefits with reduced power consumption energy saving characteristics but also has the added benefit of reduced heat offering longer operating life that is especially important when working with hard water applications as low heat reduces calcium (limescale) buildup. Low power 12 volt solenoid valves can in most instances can be run from 12 volt battery packs or wall mounted transformers. 12 volt latching solenoid valves take energy saving to a whole new level of energy saving, as a short millisecond power pulse is all that is required to change the state of the valve from open to closed or visa versa rather than electrical power needing to be applied for the whole duration of the change. For example 12 volt latching solenoid valve for water, 35 millisecond power pulse to open the water solenoid valve and it will stay open allowing water flow, reverse the polarity of the wires i.e. swap live and neutral wires and then a short electrical power pulse again and the 12vdc water solenoid valve will close and stay closed.
